Jeff Adams has been coaching volleyball at the club, high school and collegiate level for over 25 years. Jeff is currently the head coach of the Notre Dame Fairfield varsity girls program, where he has successfully guided the program into the state tournament in his first year at the helm. He is also in his third year as assistant coach at Sacred Heart University, helping the Pioneers qualify for the conference championship tournament for the first time in their existence. For the past three years, Jeff has coached for the TCA club program at both the regional and national level, winning multiple tournaments in the northeast.
Prior experience for Coach Adams include coaching club volleyball at the national and regional level for CT Juniors in Woodbridge, CT, producing multiple DIV I and III players. At the high school level, he helped steer the Trumbull boys and girls programs to multiple state tournaments, including reaching 3 state finals for the boys program, and a state championship in 2001. Most prominently at the collegiate level, he was the NECVA Div III coach of the year in 1996 and 1997, producing 3 conference titles, and a national ranking as high as #5 in the country. During his tenure, he produced the school’s only Div III All-American. Coach Adams has also had coaching stints at Yale, Iona, and Dowling Colleges.
Coach Adams played his college ball at Yale University, where he was a 3 time all-Ivy selection as their starting setter. In his junior year, he guided his team to a 51-3 record and a berth in the national tournament, losing only to Cal-Berkeley in the semi-finals of nationals. He played six years in the NY based Empire State Games, the second largest amateur sporting event in the world behind the Olympics, where he led Long Island to a bronze medal in 1988. During the summers, he played semi-professional beach volleyball, winning multiple tournaments in the Northeast, earning invites to play in the AVP qualifier tournaments.
Coach Adams has a degree in artificial intelligence from Yale University, and an MBA from Fordham University in finance and information systems. He resides in Trumbull, CT with his wife and 4 kids. When not coaching, he works for the Darien Public Schools administration team, is a business owner, and is a licensed foster parent. He currently resides in Darien with his wife and his daughter is a sophomore setter at Maine Maritime Academy.
Prior to Sacred Heart University, he served as a varsity coach for boys and girls volleyball in Connecticut and New York. During that time Coach Dunn impacted programs and was awarded by his coaching peers - Coach of the Year for NYPHSAA Section XI in 2007. He has extensive time spent working with numerous juniors clubs with USA Volleyball in the NERVA and GEVA regions since 2007 and most recently coached for local club program TCA Connecticut.
Coach Dunn is a nationally respected clinician and has directed camps and and clinics at Sacred Heart University, Bob Bertucci Volleyball Camps and Clinics. He has also served on the summer camp staff at George Mason University, Stevens Institute of Technology and LIVBC. He currently is a lead coach for Gold Medal Squared Elite Volleyball Training and is USA Volleyball CAP I Certified.
Coach Dunn has a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and History from St. Joseph's College in Patchogue, New York and is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in the Art of Teaching at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. He currently resides in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
